ABOUT THE FORUM

The Tashkent International Investment Forum will be the region’s largest international platform for discussing strategies to enhance Central Asia’s role in the international investment market.

This event will create a new international platform for Central Asia, which will attract leaders of major investment, financial and economic organizations and companies interested in finding new growth points in the dynamically developing market of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The main events of the Tashkent International Investment Forum will take place on 5–6 March 2020 at the Tashkent City International Business Center. Tashkent City is located in the city centre, between Prospekt Navoi, Ulitsa Olmazor, Ulitsa Furkata and Prospekt Karimova.

The Tashkent International Investment Forum is organized by the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

FORUM BUSINESS PROGRAMME

The Tashkent International Investment Forum will be held under the theme of ‘Realizing the New Growth Agenda’. A number of panel sessions are set to be held as part of the Forum business programme, and will be structured into several tracks: ‘Open for Business’, ‘Deepening Regional Connectivity’, ‘Harnessing Technical Innovation’, and ‘Investor Deep Dives’.

PARTICIPATION IN THE FORUM

If you would like to participate in the Tashkent International Investment Forum, please complete the application form on the Forum website.

All applications will be reviewed by the Organizing Committee and, if approved, a written invitation will be sent to the applicant. To participate in the Forum, you must be in receipt of an invitation issued by the Organizing Committee. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to refuse an invitation to an applicant without explanation.

Participants who have received an invitation are kindly requested to confirm or decline their participation in the personal web office on the Forum website. Your personal login and password can be found in the information letter you received with your invitation to the Forum.


Participants who have received an invitation but do not plan to attend the Forum, or who have previously confirmed their participation but no longer plan to attend are kindly requested to officially decline participation via the personal web office or by informing their contact person.

A participant may only be replaced with the approval of the Forum Organizing Committee. The designated contact person must be notified if an individual who has confirmed their participation cannot attend the Forum for any reason.

PAYMENT OF PARTICIPATION FEE

To pay the Forum participation fee, participants should go to the ‘Payment’ section of the personal web office and enter the payer information (the individual or legal entity who will be making the payment by invoice in US dollars).

Changes to payer information may only be made via your contact person. The relevant contact information can be found in the personal web office.

The participation fee may only be paid by the individual or legal entity indicated as the Customer in the participation agreement.

To pay, participants should:

  1. Save a payment document from the personal web office.

  2. Pay the participation fee at a bank (the payment may take more than 3 working days to process).

PERSONAL WEB OFFICE

The personal web office is a personalized section of the official Forum website, offering a wide range of features helping participants to organize their work at the event.

You can use your personal web office to edit your personal data, upload a badge photo, create an agreement or invoice/agreement, and access essential Forum services.

To access the personal web office, please enter the personal login and password found in the information letter you received with your invitation to the Forum.

The Tashkent International Investment Forum strictly adheres to legal requirements for the protection of the personal data of all participants.

The personal web office has been developed using SSL data encryption to ensure the highest levels of security and confidentiality of participants’ personal data.

Forum participants must confirm that they consent to the processing of their personal data before completing the application form or when first logging into their personal web office. In accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation, consent to the processing of personal data is a prerequisite for registering an application for participation in the Forum.

Once you have confirmed your participation in the Forum via the personal web office, you will be given the opportunity to consent to having information about yourself published on the Forum website. The list of Forum participants will reflect whether individuals have consented to information about them being published.

Personal information can be edited in the personal web office. If changes need to be made to fields that cannot be edited, the participant’s contact person should be notified. The relevant contact information can be found in the personal web office.

You can upload a photograph for your badge in the personal web office. Badges will not be issued without photographs.

Photograph requirements:

  • Colour photograph on a light background

  • Image format – jpg or jpeg

  • 480x640 pixels in size

  • Front view of the participant’s entire face, without head covering

  • Subject’s face must take up at least 70% of the image

ACCESS TO THE FORUM VENUE

The Tashkent International Investment Forum venue may only be accessed with an accreditation badge.

In order to avoid any inconvenience when accessing the venue, participants are advised to leave any items prohibited at the Forum venue at their accommodation or in their vehicle. A full list of prohibited items will be published on the website closer to the dates of the Forum.

The accreditation procedure includes the submission of a completed participation application, approval of participation by the Forum Organizing Committee, and the issuing of an accreditation badge.

The badge is a pre-programmed proximity card, a unique key linked to the participant’s information in the Forum database. The badge contains the holder’s name and surname in English, their organization, level of access, and photograph, as well as the Forum branding.

Accreditation badges are required for access to the Forum venue. The badge is the only valid document confirming a participant’s Forum accreditation.

The badge is personalized and may not be transferred to third parties. Participants should keep their badges and identity documents with them at all times while at the Forum venue.

Before collecting your badge, please make sure that:

  1. Participation in the Forum is confirmed via the personal web office.

  2. The personal information provided in the personal web office matches the participant’s ID.

  3. A badge photo has been uploaded to the personal web office or sent to the organizers in the corresponding format (colour photograph on a light background, 480x640 pixels in size, image format – jpg or jpeg, front view of the participant’s entire face without head covering, subject’s face taking up at least 70% of the image).

  4. The participation fee is paid.

The accreditation procedure includes the processing of personal data, which can take at least one working day.

A participant badge can only be collected upon presentation of the identification document (passport) indicated in the ‘Personal information’ section of the personal web office.

If there have been any changes to your ID since the application for participation was submitted, please make the corresponding changes to the data provided in the personal web office. If changes need to be made to fields that cannot be edited, your contact person should be notified.

Before issuing a badge, the accreditation point attendant will make sure that the data specified in the personal web office matches the ID provided. If there are any discrepancies, it will not be possible to issue a badge on the same day.

The following will need to be presented in order to collect a badge by power of attorney:

  • Authorized person’s passport

  • Original standard power of attorney

  • List of participants (attached to the power of attorney)

  • Copies of participants’ passports (passport copies will be returned once the badges have been issued)

A power of attorney form and an example of how to complete it will be available for download from the ‘Collecting a badge’ section of the official Forum website closer to the dates of the Forum.

Badges can be collected at one of the Forum accreditation points. Accreditation point locations and operating hours will be published in the ‘Collecting a badge’ section of the official Forum website closer to the dates of the event.

If your accreditation badge is lost or damaged, please go to the Help Desk or any accreditation point immediately. The lost badge will then be blocked and a replacement badge will be issued to the holder upon written request.

ARRIVAL TO TASHKENT

Citizens of 86 countries can visit Uzbekistan without a visa. A valid passport is required for entry into Uzbekistan.

Citizens of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Russia, and Ukraine can visit Uzbekistan without a visa. Citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic are permitted to stay for up to 60 days.

For citizens of China, including the Hong Kong special administrative region, a visa-free regime has been established for entry into Uzbekistan for a period of no more than 7 days through the country's international airports.

Citizens of foreign countries for which a simplified visa regime for entering the Republic of Uzbekistan has been established can fill out an electronic visa. More detailed information can be found on the official electronic visa portal of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Tashkent is the capital and largest city of Uzbekistan, and has a developed transport infrastructure. The city is home to the Islam Karimov Tashkent International Airport, two railway stations, and numerous major highways.

Tashkent has a pleasant climate, ranging from subtropical to moderate continental. Average temperatures for the beginning of March range from 14°С to 15°С in the daytime and 5°С to 8°С at night.
